From the Director ~ April 2015

IMG_8088Dear Friend of the Mission,

I often tell people that it would be great if there was no longer any need for the ministry of the Whosoever Gospel Mission. It would be wonderful if no one was homeless, if everyone had a good job, if everyone received a good education, if urban blight and poverty did not abound, if the drug epidemic was a thing of the past, if people always chose to do the right thing, if no one got sick or injured, if set-backs were always temporary, and if everyone could overcome the adversities of life. But we all know that this is not the way things are in this life. God does have a great plan for the future, but in the meantime He has raised up ministries such as the Whosoever Gospel Mission to minister His love and kindness to the poor and homeless. Although we may not be able to solve the entire problem of homelessness in this life, we can solve homelessness for one person at a time. Thank you for your support which gives us the resources to share God’s love in word and deed with the broken and hurting homeless men who come to the Mission desperately looking for help. Through your support, we are able to introduce homeless men to the love and hope of Jesus, we are able to provide for their basic needs, and we are able to equip them with the vital skills and resources they need to achieve a fulfilling life, enjoy a lifestyle of recovery from addiction, get a good job, move into their own place, and maintain long-term success as productive, contributing members of society.

Even though our work is hard and deals with life and death issues, we work equally hard every day to rejoice and celebrate the big and small miracles of God in the lives of our men. On Saturday night, May 16th beginning at 7:00 p.m., the Whosoever Gospel Mission will be celebrating 123 years of God’s grace in the lives of hundreds and thousands of homeless men who have entered our doors over the years. Calvary Presbyterian Church in Willow Grove, PA is graciously opening up their church for this event. I hope you can join us. This wonderful event is free, and you can bring as many people as you like. Reservations are not required, and please feel free to dress casually. We are looking forward to a great night filled with much joy and celebration. Click here for all of the details. I hope to see you then.

Warmly yours,
