Dear Friends,
As I write this, our Spring Cleaning Competition is in full swing! In an effort to spruce up the dorms, we are awarding cash prizes for first, second, and third place on each dormitory floor in the categories of cleanest, most organized, and best-decorated living space. Meanwhile, the men are also working hard in their personal lives – carefully considering the challenges and opportunities they presently face, and making decisions that move them closer to their goals one step at a time.
In addition to all the cleaning, we’ve been giving our well-loved old buildings some much-needed TLC with lots of patching and painting projects throughout the facility. If you or a small team of friends have painting skills and would like to tackle a wall or two, please reach out to me at hrice@whosoevergospel.org. We’d love your help!
We’re rejoicing with current residents Andrew and Geza, who, after months of job searching, have both started new jobs! Andrew is in orientation at The Fresh Grocer, and Geza has begun work at a downtown deli and bakery. Both are excited for this new season as they begin budgeting their income, saving up, apartment hunting, and preparing to move out in a few months upon graduating from the New Life Program. When that time comes, we’ll be excited to send them off with a check made out to their new landlord covering 50% of their security deposit and move-in expenses, along with a New Home Blessing Basket full of cleaning supplies and household items to help them get settled.
We couldn’t do any of this without the faithful support of our extended Mission family – and that’s exactly who you are. Thank you for standing with us! As the heating season winds down and our gas bills decrease, the cooling season brings rising electric bills. And as our once-new systems continue to age – 17 years after we rebuilt from the 2006 fire – we find ourselves needing more and more repairs. But through it all, I am so grateful to say that the Lord continues to provide for us through you – our wonderful Mission family – and your generosity. Thank you for your faithful support!
The Lord’s richest blessings to you and yours!
In His grace and joy,

Heather L. Rice, D.Min.
